Schnauzers At the Beach Day
August 14, 2010
What a wonderful day we had at Point Isabel in Richmond on Saturday Aug. 14th. The weather was a little brisk in the morning, ok maybe a little colder then brisk, but we kept all our layers on until the sun came out around 12:30-1:00pm.
There are no words to describe the dogs reaction to being off leash and around other dogs, not schnauzers. We were all in a group and other dogs kept coming into our little compound, our dogs just looked at them and went on about their business. It was really something to see. All I can say is “if you missed the day you missed a lot of fun”. Some of our dogs went up to other and after a few sniffs decided they remembered the other from the Fun Day in Napa.
Dave Hendry and Sandra Beck had a place all picked out with 2 tables and benches on a grassy area of the park. It was perfect, not too far from the main parking lot yet far enough away so we did not have to worry about our dogs getting into trouble.
We were all supposed to bring a sack lunch. I was thinking about my tuna sandwich when I looked over on one of the tables and discovered someone had brought enough food for an army. After inquiring I found out the people to be thanked were: Rene Wigen, Cheryl Dugan, Julio Parisi and Jorge. Thank you so much for the wonderful food you brought for all to share.
After a short Board Meeting and even shorter General Meeting we ate and played and hiked with our dogs. Once we started walking it got warm and the jackets started coming off. I can’t describe the view—it was incredible. We could see forever. We could see the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands and San Francisco.
I had a great time and I hope everyone that attended had a great time too. Perhaps we can do it again. I will be going back with my dogs, and I hope to see you there.

Oh boy! A day at the beach!
This is a big beach!
I heard they call it San Francisco
The humans call it the Golden Gate Bridge
Schnauzers rule!
Hi there!
Groan. We need to find us some more active humans.
This is awful. We're here and the food is there.
Free food! Free food!
